Main Duties & Responsibilities


Role Overview & Purpose
The Finance Manager plays a key role in ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and performance of the organization within a manufacturing environment. The position is responsible for statutory accounting, controlling, and financial reporting in compliance with German GAAP (HGB), US GAAP, and SOX requirements, while actively supporting business decision-making across the value chain.
Acting as a trusted business partner to local stakeholders and the EMEA Finance organization, the Finance Manager enables cost control, risk mitigation, and sustainable financial performance, ensuring that finance processes effectively support operational excellence and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and US GAAP, ensuring SOX compliance
  • Take full responsibility for the General Ledger and VAT accounting
  • Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and financial performance reports
  • Manage and coordinate all controlling activities across the full manufacturing value chain
  • Support the EMEA Financial Controller in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and management reports
  • Act as a financial liaison between Finance and local departments (e.g. Purchasing, Sales, Operations)
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities, financial risks, and inefficiencies; proactively propose mitigation actions
  • Ensure accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of financial data and reporting

Remote Work
Limited remote work possible (1–2 days per week)

Qualifications


Must-have Requirements

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship and/or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Several years of professional experience in Finance, including:
  • Preparation of annual financial statements under German GAAP (HGB)
  • Controlling responsibilities in a business or manufacturing environment
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Proven experience in a producing / manufacturing company

    Nice-to-have Qualifications
  • Prior experience with US GAAP and SOX requirements
  • Exposure to international or matrix organizations

    Soft Skills & Personal Attributes
  • Strong intercultural competence and ability to work effectively in international environments
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of commercial interdependencies across the value chain
  • Clear and effective communication skills, able to engage finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Self-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented working style

    Language Skills
  • German: Fluent (minimum C1)
  • English: Fluent (minimum B2) – required for international correspondence and reporting

    IT Skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Infor NTH experience preferred)
  • Solid user knowledge of standard finance and reporting tools
